Scheduling conflicts are the primary reasons people provide for deferring therapy and not tending to their mental health. The portability of online therapy (telehealth) allows you to access mental health treatment in your own space while balancing the challenges of commutes, schedules, and childcare difficulties. Uplifting Care offers both in-person as well as telehealth options. We utilize a secure platform that ensures the privacy and confidentiality of your telehealth session.
Recent increases in the use of online therapy have produced research that suggest that the exploration, change, and healing, are just as possible through online therapy as they are in person.
Telehealth therapy does not eliminate the need for privacy in the therapeutic room and therefor it is important that you are aware of the following guidelines for online therapy:
Ensure that your audio and camera are working. While technical difficulties are to be expected; working audio and camera are required to continue with an online therapy session.
Find a safe, secure space away from the ears and eyes of others. While we cannot always control for the people with whom we share our space, taking the time to secure our space either through conversations with others about the privacy needed; ear buds/headphones, and using a space with a closed door are a few ways to ensure privacy.
Therapy cannot and will not be provided if you are: driving; acting as a passenger with other people in the car; and/or clearly in a public space.
